Hello Hello Hello.
Brilliant minds in marketing tell me that I’m supposed to stick to one topic for each missive.
I’m just not that compliant.
There’s much to cover this week so let’s get to it.
Coming Attractions

Coming in JUNE - curated job listings. You’ll get up to 6 specific job postings from reputable companies that are legitimately hiring. I’ll review the listing, including specific things you’ll want to make sure you have in your work history PRIOR to applying. There is NO HIDDEN JOB MARKET, yet finding great jobs that are off the beaten track takes some research and dedication. My goal is to do some of that heavy-lifting for you. There will always be ONE of these listings available to unpaid subscribers each month. Paid subscribers will have access to all listings. (remember you can subscriber for as little as $5.00/month). In addition we’ll have a monthly chat to walk through the postings and your applications
Work is NOT separate from your life.
There are plenty of people who talk about work-life balance, or separating your work from your “life” but I haven’t yet seen that to be true. (although I’m open to your examples and would welcome you as a guest on my zencareer podcast to discuss).
Like everything in life there are awesome parts, messy parts, depressing parts and just plain crappy parts to your work. And that’s okay. The magic happens when you learn to respond rather than react and to dive into your core values and strengths to keep yourself focused on your own big picture. You really can do most anything you put your mind to, and you get to choose where to focus. Focus on one thing/goal/project often means you need to set aside something else at least for the short term. That’s a big part of the work I do with you in our one-to-one sessions. Helping you understand (re-connect to) your deepest gifts in this world and identifying ways to put them front and center at work (and at home). I’ve got 3 more slots open in May and would love to spend time working with you. Learn more about working with me 1-1.
Do You Need an Implant to Know What Food to Eat?
I’ve been watching the news from some big medical device manufacturing companies. One of them is very excited about developing a device that in the future will tell us what we should eat in the morning to optimize our bodies and stay healthy.
I love technology so I’m geeked out about this. And I’m also worried about how we have gotten so far away from ourselves that we can’t just listen to our bodies to learn how to care for them best.
I live with an auto-immune disease and can assure you that I don’t have all the answers and I’m often tempted by get-well-quick ideas and “easy buttons” to manage my health. They are short-lived though. In the end it’s back to working on my whole self healing - I highly recommend The Body Keeps the Score. It’s a bit of a slog but so very important to my own healing.
What’s your biggest challenge when it comes to finding a new job?
Let me know and I’ll answer it in an upcoming newsletter and/or podcast!
Until next week,
Happy job hunting.
