Unpack what's weighing you down
Write what you know is pretty good advice.
Write what you can’t stop thinking and learning about is more my speed these days.
I KNOW a great deal about how corporations make hiring decisions. How recruiters find candidates and vet them (that’s their job - to narrow the field of candidates). I know so much about getting hired, resumes and LinkedIn profiles.
I’m not passionate about any of it.
I’m passionate about what’s underneath all that - the PEOPLE in the trenches looking for jobs and the managers who want to build world-class teams because they are working on products and innovations that make the world a better and healthier place.
The people who are longing for their right place. The people who are struggling to find joy between the mess of work, commute and {waves hands dramatically} THE WORLD!
People who want to go deeper than the job-hunting hacks and resume tweaks - those are MY people.
The people that want to have big discussions about little things like life and meaning and parents and aging and our place in all of it. The people who are passionate about learning and finding the truth of their voice before it feels too late.
Those are the people I write to over at Clear Voice Studio. It’s where I’ll be spending most of my Subsack time. When something of note comes up in the career sphere - I’ll be sure to share it here.
I invite you to come over to Clear Voice and subscribe. All posts are free. Paid subscribers get some cool live events throughout the year - think of it as the tools to implement all the things we talk about. We talk about:
clarity before a job search
understanding your core beliefs and whether or not they are actually YOU
unpacking limiting ideas and other people’s perceptions of you so that you can dive deeper into finding yourself
articulating the heart of your soul so you can live from a place of deeper understanding
finding peace with money, with your job, with your family, & with the world no matter what it looks like at any given moment
exercising your voice in the world to make it a more loving place;
And so much more.
I’d be delighted if you’d join us there.
