For Thanksgiving I was thrilled to find Romanesco at the Farmer’s Market. It’s delicious - particularly roasted low and slow with olive oil and your favorite herbs. It’s also a lovely example of the Fibonacci sequence.
Nature is full of examples this sequence. I’m no mathematician.
According to study.com:
The Fibonacci sequence is important for many reasons. In nature, the numbers and ratios in the sequence can be found in the patterns of petals of flowers, the whorls of a pine cone, and the leaves on stems. As the sequence continues, the ratios of the terms approach a number known as the golden ratio.
I’m not the only one who is fascinated by sequences and patterns, am I?
In general I believe nature likes to get our attention on things that matter and pull us from the assault of information that has little to do with living a good life. Some believe in battles of good and evil. I believe that I must have been put on the earth of some reason other than the entertainment of a vengeful god. I also believe that meaning can be found in seemingly minute details - like the patterns that repeat in our lives.
And all the clues to solve the puzzle are with us from the beginning. I’m a professional hand analyst (think of it as pragmatic palmistry - not predictive - the link is to my book on Amazon) and a long time student of astrology, numerology, the Enneagram, Human Design, mediumship, A Course in Miracles and more. (Not your cup of tea, it’s all good, no need to continue your subscription)
As I return to my astrological chart, my life path number and the code in my fingerprints I see variations on the theme and go deeper every time. From a one dimensional reading of the newspaper horoscope to an in depth study of my north and south nodes I realize I’ve been following the same pattern in every area of my life. “As above, so below,” or “As at home, in relationships and at work - it’s all the same!”
Approaching 60, boy it comes up FAST! I see how my search for roots and a place to call home (I’ve moved more than 30 times and I’m not, nor were my parents, in the military) is reflected in my career. I’ve moved industries and jobs more than most. Always in pursuit of a place to call home and to settle. And yet, at the slightest provocation, it was relatively easy for me to bounce and go somewhere else.
Unlike what you may have heard, it’s NOT the kiss of death to leave a role for something more lucrative. Good employees are hard to find in any economy - so being flexible and willing to shift and change is not a poor career decision. Doing so without a plan is a poor decision.
However, you can right yourself. You just can’t miss the big things you’re here to do - however, those things are usually not things - nor jobs. They’re relationships.
Now that I’m all over the place (It’s what happens in the holiday season - stories sit unfinished, I come back and ramble on) I want to tell you - that YOU are always moving - and pursuing a resolution that is hard-wired in you to solve. Your hands hold the clues.
As 2025 approaches, I’m opening up more spots for private readings (Yes, I can read your hands via zoom or I can review your pics and send you an email report if one-to-one isn’t your jam).
$150.00 for a zoom session (usually lasts about an hour) and $100.00 for an email report.
If you’re interested, email me or reply to this note and we’ll get it set up. (website is coming in 2025 too)
Hugs,
P
